Tree-Duce, Tree-Use, Tree-Cycle
Mundelein High School’s (MHS) National Honors Society has teamed up with Tree-Plenish to help offset MHS’s paper usage. Our goal is to plant as many trees as we can to make up for our paper usage. Our event will be held on April 17th, 2021. Our goal is to plant 400 trees in the yards of our community members. In general, a single tree creates 10,000 pieces of paper, so by planting 400 trees we would be replenishing 4.0 million sheets of paper. During the event we will be following CDC guidelines. Masks will be required and will be following social distancing guidelines.
As the National Honors Society, we are passionate about affecting change in our local community and want to do our part to build a more sustainable future. To reach our goal, we are relying on you to request a tree to be planted in your yard! Each tree costs $5 and you can choose the number and type of trees that you would like. Our personal favorite tree is the Eastern Redbud tree! It looks beautiful in any yard!
